Sander looks to find sincerity in the work he does, capturing a sense of vulnerability and genuine humility. He looks to be part of the moment, embracing a fluid hand held approach using a strong compositional reportage style.
His first personal work was inspired through the captivating images of his father’s 60’s and 70’s vinyl collection. Shortly after, Sander started shooting a Nikon FM with a 50mm lens. This became his constant companion as Sander documented the world around him, and inspired him to capture the live rock music scene in England. His free reportage style has now evolved into his editorial and commercial work. Sander prefers using natural and ambient light, making the viewer feel part of the moment and story captured.
